What Can I Expect?

During the initial engagement, we determine what next steps are needed to get the product into mass production.  Based on this information, we can determine if specific services are sufficient or full Phase I, II, or III services are needed.  Once the customer agrees on the level of service to be provided, an outline of expectations and a full quotation are generated for approval.

What if I only have an idea for a product?

DMC, LLC, can provide full design services to assist with everything from industrial design (making your idea look attractive to consumers) to complete design for manufacturing (making sure your product can actually be produced) and prototyping.  If you have a patentable idea we can also direct you to resources to help you protect your idea.

How do you communicate my expectations to the suppliers?

If you don’t already have one we can assist in generating a product specification sheet and if necessary, 2D/3D drawings, and bill of materials.  The product specification sheet is essentially the “recipe” for how to make your product.  It includes everything from the raw materials used, cosmetic and functional requirements, 3rd party certifications, etc.  The drawings are used to identify critical dimensional aspects of your product, and bill of materials is the list of all the components used in the product.  All these documents are used to communicate to the supplier what the product is and how it should be made.

What if I already have a supplier and need assistance with a technical, quality, delivery, or communication issue?

DMC, LLC, can provide a one-time service or ongoing management using our staff in Asia to meet face-to-face to resolve any supplier issues and communicate resolution back to the customer.

How long does it take to receive a quote?

Lead time for quotations are typically 5 – 10 days depending on the complexity of the product.  We thoroughly negotiate all the terms of the quotation before providing them to you.

How do I know if the right supplier will be making my product?

We have a network of over 250 qualified suppliers that we work with.  Every supplier is verified and, before we begin production, there is a formal audit conducted.  We also give you the choice of 3 – 5 suppliers and provide an analysis of each supplier along with pricing, payment, and delivery terms.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, refunds are available up to 24 hours after initial purchase of any of our services.  After 24 hours, refunds will be prorated based on amount of the quoted services completed.  Approximately.

Is it necessary to provide a sample for quoting?

No, it’s not necessary but maybe recommended depending on the product category.  By providing the suppliers with physical samples we can demonstrate the construction, quality, and functional requirements for your product more clearly.  If a picture is worth a thousand words, a sample may be worth a thousand emails!

Can you source multiple products for me at the same time?

Yes!  It’s often more efficient if you utilize our services for multiple products at once.  We can better understand your products and requirements during the first engagement instead of repeating this process with each product submission.  We can gain even more efficiency by working on multiple products within the same “product family”.  A product family is usually products that fall within a specific product category and are often produced using the same or similar manufacturing processes.

Do you assist with selecting a product to source?

DMC’s primary goal is to provide a service to accurately communicate your requirements, find qualified manufacturing sources, and assist with managing suppliers and quality of your product.  Unfortunately, we do not offer any type of assistance in choosing a product on behalf of the customer.

We require the customer to be 100% responsible for determining an ideal product for manufacturing.  have manufactured.  However, if we become aware of an issue related to your product such as patent protection, inferior products released in the market, importing issues, or issues with supplier quality we will inform you immediately and work toward a solution.

Can you help me get my product shipped from Asia?

Yes!  We can assist with arranging a freight forwarder for either air or ocean shipment of your product or have our suppliers work directly with your freight forwarder to deliver your product.

How can I be sure that the product made will meet my requirements and expectations?

This is the primary reason for our deep dive approach.  Our goal is to clearly communicate the customer requirements to our factories so everyone is on the same page with expectations.  This is done not only for sample approval, but an independent 3rd party inspection is conducted on every shipment (according to the customer’s requirements).  These inspections are reviewed and approved by the customer before release for shipment.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

More than likely the factory will require a minimum order quantity for each purchase order placed.  This will vary from product to product and factory to factory.  Keep in mind that mass production efficiencies work on scale.  The larger the order the larger the discount is likely to be.  Smaller orders will be higher unless the product is already carried in stock, but a small order may be refused completely by the supplier.

Can I purchase directly from the factory?

Absolutely!   This is one of the great benefits or our a-la-carte services.  You can pick one or an entire suite of services including payment consolidation.  If it is more convenient for you to pay us directly we can make wire transfers on your behalf with the factory or you can arrange to pay them directly.  We are completely transparent in our process and we encourage direct communication with the supplier if necessary.
